The Crown Hotel is a Free-house purchased from J W Lees and has been run by Brian and Mel since 22nd Feb 2013. They have owned the pub since 2014 making it a Free-house giving us the ability to retain prices as low as possible. The Crown was refurbished inside with Mel as the interior designer buying quirky tables and chairs to match the surroundings. In Sept 2015 we were joined by Kieran Jones our Head Chef who has helped the restaurant to become one of the best in Denbighshire and at writing this we are 10th out of 379 restaurants on Tripadvisor something which we had only dreamed of, now to get to the top spot.
Traditional Welsh Country Inn
The Crown Hotel is a 400 year old traditional Welsh country inn offering a warm welcome, local food, cask ales, real fire and more. Well behaved dogs are welcome in our snug. Situated on the traffic lights on the A525 Wrexham/Ruthin and A5105 Chester/Corwen, The Crown Hotel is at a gateway to the magnificent Clwyd Valley and its spectacular countryside. Views can be enjoyed from The Ponderosa Cafe situated some 2 miles from us above the Horseshoe Pass. The village of Llandegla is also located on the Offa's Dyke Path and The Crown Hotel provides a welcome stopping point for weary walkers. (Please check out current opening times.) The Coed Llandegla Forest is local to us; it provides internationally acclaimed mountain bike trails but can be enjoyed equally on foot. There is also the Llandegla Shooting Ground some 2 miles on the A5104 towards Chester.
We aim to hold at least two events every month from a Quiz to a ladies night with naughty but nice lingerie.
Please call or email us today to find out more about our country inn.
